Nothing happened overnight

No fixtures have been played since Saturday's two quarter-finals (12 July JST). In Miami, England beat Norway 2-1 after extra time: Norway led through Andreas Schjelderup on 36 minutes, Jude Bellingham equalised in first-half stoppage time and scored again three minutes into extra time. It was Norway's best World Cup finish. In Kansas City, Argentina beat Switzerland 3-1 after extra time. Alexis Mac Allister scored on 10 minutes, Dan Ndoye levelled on 67, and after Breel Embolo was sent off for a second booking, Julian Alvarez (112) and Lautaro Martinez (120+1) finished it.

Arlington, 4 a.m. JST

Kylian Mbappe hurt an ankle against Morocco but said afterwards he was "completely fine", and is expected to start. Aurelien Tchouameni has returned to training after a thigh problem; Manu Kone went off against Morocco with a minor knee issue. Both are expected to be available, and France have no suspensions.

Spain report no new injuries. The question there is selection. Luis de la Fuente left Pedri out against Belgium and started Fabian Ruiz; Pedri came on at the break and restored the rhythm. On Lamine Yamal, de la Fuente said: "The big day from Lamine is yet to come in this World Cup — I hope tomorrow is his day."

Mbappe and Lionel Messi are level on eight goals. Mbappe leads on FIFA's tiebreaker with three assists to Messi's one. Harry Kane and Bellingham follow on six.
